Phillips Plating’s story is, in many ways, a quintessential American story. Three brothers from small-town America start a business, work hard, and grow their company into a successful enterprise with globally recognized clients. But, the brand’s image didn’t truly reflect what the company had become thanks to all their hard work. With the second generation now leading the organization, Celtic was tapped to bring the brand to life.

Modernizing the Brand

The first thing we do when we take on a branding initiative is take a deep dive into the brand as we find it. So, one cold and snowy January weekend, Celtic’s branding team headed up to Phillips, Wisconsin to see Phillips Plating and get to know the people behind the product.
From an unassuming location in the middle of rural Wisconsin, a team of dedicated and hardworking people are chrome-plating pieces that give luxury vehicles, high-end electronics, and vital medical equipment a little extra shine.

Our team interviewed Phillips employees, clients, and vendors, and toured the state-of-the-art facility. We dove deep into the organization’s past to learn what made their founders tick. From there, we developed a brand personality, gave voice to their mission, developed a tagline, and designed a new logo that was inspired by their past but definitely sleek and modern. Then, we put all of it together to design a new website complete with original photography and content.
