Say hello to Cindy Miresse, Celtic’s Account Director. We recently had a Q&A with Cindy to help new team members get to know her a little better. And now you can, too. Enjoy.
What do you do at Celtic?
Account Service Director
What do you enjoy the most about your job?
I get to work with a diverse group of clients, so every day is unique and interesting.
How did you end up working in the industry?
By accident. I was going to be a writer but got referred to an ad agency right out of college. It was love at first sight and I’ve been doing this ever since.
If you weren’t working in the marketing and advertising industry, what would you be doing?
When I was in high school, I wanted to be a veterinarian, specifically for horses. I do sometimes wish I had pursued that dream.
What’s the best career-related advice you’ve ever received?
Figure out how individuals like to work, then accommodate their style rather than insist they follow your preconceived notion of how things should be done. The relationship will be better. The work will be better. Everyone will be happier.
When you’re not working here at Celtic, what are you doing?
Playing with my dog, cuddling with my cat, watching my kids play whatever sport happens to be in season, reading, taking a cooking class with my hubby
What’s your favorite bar in Milwaukee?
I can only pick one? Inconceivable!
Do you have any weird phobias?
I cannot walk over those grates on the sidewalk that lead to the steaming pits of hell. I go out of my way to walk around them. I also don’t like bugs.
What is your dream vacation destination?
Anywhere and everywhere. My family travels a lot and before we’re even off the plane at home I’m planning our next trip.
Tell us about the best vacation you’ve ever taken.
Alaska, followed closely by London, no, Ireland, wait, no, London… And I never get sick of San Francisco.
What is the strangest food you have ever eaten?
I think it is weird that we eat snails, but they are so delicious cooked in melted butter and garlic, plucked from their shell and plopped on a piece of warm Italian bread
If you were stranded on an island, what would you bring with you?
My kids, a book and mascara.
What is the best concert you ever attended?
So many! Paul McCartney at county stadium in 1993, Nirvana, also in ’93, Duran Duran in ’84 at the Dane County Coliseum, Avett Brothers at Summerfest in ’14, Frank Sinatra, Garth Brooks… there just can’t be one.
What’s your go-to karaoke song?
Momma don’t do Karaoke
Who inspires you?
My kids. My husband. Michelle Obama..
What is your favorite hobby?
Reading and sleeping, not necessarily in that order.
What’s something about you that not many people know?
I’ve known my best friend since I was 2. I grew up with horses and used to compete in hunter/jumper shows until I got out of college and my parents refused to keep paying for my horse addiction. I can tie a cherry stem in a knot with my tongue. Now you know.
