Ryan Connell is a graduate intern at Celtic working in our account service and PR departments. Here’s his perspective on agency life and working at Celtic.

Like the majority of college students pursuing their career in a given field, getting that first taste of professional experience can be daunting. At least that was my expectation after hearing stories from my peers and teachers throughout my college career.

But that hasn’t been the case here at Celtic. Like anyone, I’ve had to deal with the challenges of making the jump from college to the pros, but I couldn’t have imagined being surrounded by a more helpful and caring group of people to start my career.

The experience and knowledge I’ve gained in only three short months at Celtic has taught me a great deal about agency life. Having co-workers that take the time to mentor and teach me the aspects of public relations, advertising and social media has been invaluable.

I recently worked on a promotion for Milwaukee Irish Fest called “Turning Milwaukee Green.” The campaign encouraged companies throughout the Milwaukee area to turn their building lights green in the days leading up to the festival. Some of the participating organizations included: Mitchell Park Conservatory (The Domes), General Mitchell International Airport, Marquette Interchange, Potawatomi Hotel & Casino, Catholic Financial Life and many others. It was a fun and interactive campaign that brought Milwaukee together to support one of its treasures, Milwaukee Irish Fest.

In addition, I’ve had the opportunity to work on amazing brands like George Webb Restaurants, Camillus Knives, Bertucci Performance Field Watches and Edvest, Wisconsin’s colleges savings plan. The experience I’ve gained here at Celtic has been invaluable (and a lot of fun).
